8 REASONS WHY RETIREES SHOULD SERVE GOD AT BETHESDA OUTREACH

Al and Nancy Teed were privileged to spend 2 years (2003-2005) at Bethesda Outreach in South Africa.
Their lives were tremendously blessed by the people they worked with in Africa and at EBM.

  • It’s a wonderful opportunity to serve God and make a difference in the lives of children.  Bethesda Outreach is a compassion ministry of EBM which operates a children’s village in Hammanskraal, South Africa.  Bethesda Outreach’s Mission Statement is ‘By God’s grace and for His glory, Bethesda Outreach exists to assist churches in meeting the needs of AIDS affected orphans that they may become disciples of Christ.’

  • You can use the talents God has developed in your life to bless the staff and children at Bethesda.  The children’s village requires many skills as well as mature judgment in everyday operation and in planning for the future.

  • Your retirement income may reduce or eliminate the need to raise funds for your time at Bethesda.  The cost of living in South Africa is actually somewhat less than many areas of the United States.

  • You will receive a fantastic return on investment (ROI) for the love and resources you invest at Bethesda (‘Grand-parents’ are blessed beyond measure as they see their ‘grand-children’ develop physically, mentally and spiritually).

  • You will be blessed by the Bethesda staff as you see first hand the love and devotion exhibited in the lives of these choice servants of God, and you will be amazed at how God has called together a team to help meet the critical needs of some of the multitude of children who have lost both parents (and often many other relatives) to the scourge of the AIDS pandemic.

  • You can have a part in re-building Africa in the aftermath of the AIDS pandemic.  What better way to do this than by investing in the lives of children who can be an influence for Christ and affect their continent in future generations.

  • You will have opportunities to invest your own personal time and resources in people in the Hammanskraal/Temba area who need Christ and to link arms with those who are serving Christ in a society which is wide open to the gospel.

  • Your life will be enriched by the varied and amazing blending of cultures in the beautiful country of South Africa which you can experience without learning a new language.  English (not American – but you will get by) is one of the eleven official languages of the country of South Africa and is spoken almost everywhere.
